The Michigan Association of Counties’ President appoints all committee members. Remember that MAC develops its legislative strategies based on the decisions of the Standing Committees. Make your voice heard by joining a committee and taking part in this integral aspect of your association.
Each committee meets between 3-6 times per year. In order to ensure a balanced approach, each committee has a certain number of voting members from each region.
By becoming a registered member of the site you will have access to pertinent legislative information including committee meeting handouts, minutes and various legislative informaiton affecting county government.
The following schedule is when the committees generally meet. Please visit the MAC Events Page to verify if the meeting that you are interested in attending is scheduled to take place:
- Environmental and Regulatory Affairs – Meets the 2nd Friday at 10:00 a.m.
- Economic Development and Taxation – Meets the 3rd Friday at 10:00 a.m.
- Judiciary and Public Safety – Meets the 4th Monday at 2:00 p.m.
- Human Services – Meets the 4th Monday at 10:00 a.m.
- Transportation – Meets the 4th Friday at 10:00 a.m.
