The 2024 Legislative Conference will be held April 29-May 1 in Lansing, with sessions at
both the DoubleTree (formerly Radisson Hotel) and the Lansing Center.
The event is co-hosted by the Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council (MCMCFC) *
Join colleagues from across the state for three days of learning and networking at the 2024 Michigan Counties Legislative Conference.
Additional plenary sessions will feature:
- A Legislative Panel discussion with key lawmakers from the House and Senate
- Remarks from the National Association of Counties (NACo) President Mary Jo McGuire
- Dr. Peter Cressy with the George Washington Leadership Institute
- MAC Legislative Update
- Remarks from MAC President Jim Storey of Allegan County
- Presentation of certificates to the 2024 graduating class of County Commissioner Academy
Breakout sessions on current challenges for county leaders, including broadband funding updates, lessons learned from the opioid settlements, impact of renewable energy siting legislation, options for infrastructure funding to address the expansion of electric vehicles and much more!
A Legislative Reception will be held on the evening of Tuesday, April 30

PAYMENT INFORMATION | CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
All cancellations must be submitted to MAC in writing on or before April 19, 2024. Registrant will receive refund minus an administrative fee of 25%. No refunds will be issued if canceled after April 19, 2024.
For those who wish to pay with a credit card when processing their registration payment, an event processing fee of 2.5% + $0.50 per transaction will be added during checkout. To avoid this fee, please select Pay by Check when submitting the registration application.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing (formerly Radisson Hotel) is providing a special group rate for the event, and is connected via the newly renovated pedestrian bridge to the Lansing Center itself. The bridge now offers improved lighting, new security systems, ventilation system, and carpet.
The cutoff date to reserve your room is April 4, 2024. There is no guarantee that rooms will be available until April 4, so you are encouraged to reserve early.

NOTE: There are no rooms available for arrival on Sunday, April 28. Though MAC does not have a block of rooms setup, rooms are available at the Courtyard – rates vary between $199 and $249 for Sunday arrival.
Parking: Temporary self-parking is available on a space available, first come, first served basis in the city-owned ramp conveniently connected to the DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing via a climate controlled pedway. The current parking rate is $1.50 for each ½ hour, maximum of $15.00 per day. Valet parking is $28 per vehicle per night.
Tax-exempt status: For any DoubleTree by Hilton overnight guest(s) to be eligible for tax-exempt status, (1) the room must be paid for directly by the guest’s government agency, either with a check or credit card, and (2) the guest must provide a copy of the agency’s tax-exempt form. Tax-exempt status is not granted for rooms paid for by the individual, even if getting reimbursed.
