The event is co-hosted by the Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council (MCMCFC) *
Join us at the 2025 Michigan Counties Legislative Conference April 7-9 in Lansing to learn the latest on trending county policy matters and network with your colleagues from across the state.
This year’s event will feature a new format in which all presentations will be plenary sessions, ensuring you do not have to miss any content. Among the sessions planned are:
- A discussion with the legislative “Quadrant” on what we can expect out of Lansing this year
- Remarks from National Association of Counties Executive Director Matthew Chase on the fast-changing policy situations in Washington, D.C.
- A comprehensive review of MAC’s legislative strategies for the year from MAC’s Deena Bosworth
- A report on the reviving “Ax Mi Tax” effort that threatens the financial underpinnings of county governments
- Remarks from MAC Board President Melissa Daub of Wayne County and Executive Director Stephan Currie
Special events at the conference include:
- A Strolling Dinner on the opening night for mingling with colleagues and MAC’s Premier Corporate Partners
- A Legislative Reception, during which MAC will honor its “Legislative Advocates” for 2024
- Presentation of certificates to members of the 2025 class of County Commissioner Academy

PAYMENT INFORMATION | CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
All cancellations must be submitted to MAC in writing on or before March 28, 2025. Registrant will receive refund minus an administrative fee of 25%. No refunds will be issued if canceled after March 28, 2025.
For those who wish to pay with a credit card when processing their registration payment, an event processing fee of 2.5% + $0.50 per transaction will be added during checkout. To avoid this fee, please select Pay by Check when submitting the registration application.

The cutoff date to reserve your room is March 7, 2025. There is no guarantee that rooms will be available until March 7, so you are encouraged to reserve early.

Parking: Temporary self-parking is available on a space available, first come, first served basis in the city-owned ramp conveniently connected to the DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing via a climate controlled pedway. The current parking rate is $1.50 for each ½ hour, maximum of $15.00 per day. Valet parking is $35 per vehicle per night.
Tax-exempt status: For any DoubleTree by Hilton overnight guest(s) to be eligible for tax-exempt status, (1) the room must be paid for directly by the guest’s government agency, either with a check or credit card, and (2) the guest must provide a copy of the agency’s tax-exempt form. Tax-exempt status is not granted for rooms paid for by the individual, even if getting reimbursed.
