MAC 125th Anniversary
MAC’s 125! (1898-2023)
What would become the Michigan Association of Counties began on an undoubtedly cold Feb. 1 in 1898. That day, a group of officials from 16 counties gathered in the Senate chamber of Michigan’s State Capitol, which was then just 20 years old.
All through 2023, MAC will be celebrating its anniversary with special events, promotions and informational nuggets about the history of our organization and county government in Michigan.
